"Do you have real mud?" is one of the first questions we hear from anyone calling with their own lifted truck or Jeep. Yes — a real mud pit and a water crossing, both part of the 45 acres at 281 Country Club, San Antonio's only dedicated offroad park. Here's exactly what's included, and the one rule that trips people up.
Rental vehicles don't go in the mud — here's why
This is the rule that catches people off guard: rental ATVs and UTVs stay on the trails and go-kart track. The mud pit and water crossing are reserved for BYO (bring your own) vehicles — trucks, Jeeps, ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes you trailer in yourself on a day pass.
If mudding is the whole reason you're coming, you want your own rig and a day pass, not a rental. If you don't have a vehicle and want a guided trail ride instead, that's exactly what our ATV and UTV rentals are for.
What's actually out there
- A real mud pit — deep enough to bury a lifted truck's tires, part of the standard trail loop.
- A water crossing / pond — a genuine water feature vehicles drive through, not a puddle.
- Open hillside trails connecting the mud and water features to the rest of the 45 acres.
- BBQ areas and pond access included with every pass, for a break between runs.
How to get access
An access pass covers your vehicle, the mud pit, the water crossing, and the full 45 acres — up to 5 people per pass. Four options, and you can stack them for a longer trip:
| Pass | Hours | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Day Pass | 10AM – 6PM | $20 / vehicle |
| Night Pass | 6PM – 10PM | $10 / vehicle |
| Overnight Pass | 10PM – 10AM | $20 / vehicle |
| Monthly Pass | 30-day unlimited | $80 |
See the full access pass details to buy online, or stack Day + Night + Overnight for $50 and get a full 24 hours on the property.
What to bring
- Recovery gear — a tow strap and shovel are good practice if you're serious about the mud pit. Getting stuck is part of it, and other riders commonly help with recovery pulls.
- Clothes you don't care about. Expect to get dirty, in a good way.
- Your own trailer — free parking with trailer space for single and double ATV/UTV trailers is right near the gate.
