If you've got a UTV or ATV rental booked and the forecast is calling for rain, you're probably wondering if you need to reschedule. Here's our actual weather policy — straight from how we run the park, not a generic disclaimer.
We operate rain or shine
Rain alone doesn't close the park or cancel bookings. A wet trail is a normal part of the offroad experience — the terrain handles it, and riding through a little mud and puddles is honestly part of the fun for a lot of guests. Come dressed for it (clothes you don't mind getting dusty or muddy) and expect your ride to go ahead as scheduled.
The one thing that does pause rides: lightning
Lightning is the exception. If lightning is detected near the park, we pause rides and evacuate riders from the trails immediately for safety. This isn't a judgment call made on the fly — it's a standard safety protocol any outdoor operation follows. Once the lightning clears, rides resume.
Extreme heat
We stay open through Texas heat too. If you're booking during peak summer, bring extra water and consider an early-morning or evening slot when temperatures are more manageable. The park is fully outdoors, so dress and hydrate accordingly.
What if I want to reschedule anyway?
That's fine — free cancellation or rescheduling is available up to 24 hours before your booking. If the forecast looks rough and you'd rather pick a different day, check the weather ahead of time and give us a call or manage it through your booking confirmation.
